Below are a few testimonials from some local Myrtle Beach golfers, a few snow birds and other visitors to the Founders Club course.
“Arguably one of my favorite courses I’ve ever played.” –Michael Sikora, Boardman, OH
“Beautiful course. Played in March this spring. Weather was great, course in great shape!” –Mark Wissmann, Zimbabwe, South Africa
“Very interesting layout and not a boring hole in 18. Course was in excellent shape – t boxes, fairways and greens. Lots of waste bunkers that also serve as cart paths on several holes which is very unusual but frankly I felt it added to the fun of the course – almost a desert type layout. Played 5 courses in this area in 6 days. Thought Founders had the most unique and fun layout.” –Chuck, Long Valley, NJ
“Solid course. I had a great time at the Founders club. Staff was great. Driving in the waste areas really neat and smooth as can be. They are working on marking them so that you can get in and out easier. Greens were terrific. . . . Unique and fun to play.” –Dave, Charlotte, NC
“Tremendous layout! The natural feel on The Founders Club is well suited to the Pawleys market. Waste bunkers, allowing almost no cart paths, extend the added playability and natural setting. The course has more movement than most at the beach and the use of waste sand adds to the native feel. I enjoyed the fact that it meandered around an older Pawleys neighborhood. I felt like I was on a much older course reminiscent of golden era golf. It’s one of the better Grand Strand designs and fits the Pawleys motto of ‘arrogantly shabby’ to a T.” –Ash, Pittsburgh, PA
“Very different track with sand down the lateral sides! I enjoyed this course , first time the rough was sand. Loved the challenge. There was a lot of water trees and bunkers to give you a hard time the staff was friendly and polite – I will play again. Check local papers for coupons – have fun.” – Walkerstone, Peterborough, Canada
“ Wonderfully different golf challenge with a first-class clubhouse! I really enjoyed this course and its many challenges. We were met and nicely greeted at the bag drop off. Our carts were prepared and in good running order. The pro shop was perfect and had some reasonable sales. Being a part owner of a local resort , we are given 8-10 courses to play while we spend our winters here, I cant tell you the price it would bring tears to your eyes. The real difference with this course was each hole was bordered with 10-20 feet of packed sand, no cart paths. A short first cut from the fairway and you’re in the hard packed sand – an easier, I feel, second shot. But beware, it can be tricky. The course was well manicured and greens challenging. A must play if in the area. Great little restaurant and locker room facilities!! –CPAIR1967, Lakefield, Canada
“Great layout! This has to be one of the best and most unique layouts in Myrtle Beach. This course offers a lot of elevation change, and some great visual deception based on the both how the bunkers are set up and water cutting into play. I would highly recommend this course for any golf vacation. Even the drive time isn’t bad, 40 minute drive from the Sand Dunes Resort. As someone that works in the Golf industry in Myrtle I have access to every course at the beach, and I would play this course any time. –Wilkie, Myrtle Beach
